Beachfront in Duck, NC, on the Outer Banks. It is just beautiful this time of year, and the crowds are gone. Quite a restful week. Rented a 4x4 though...I do not like exposing any of my cars to that salt air.

Hey, have a great time in Duck---I was gonna say drop in if you're close--but Asheville is probably 8 hrs from Duck--LOL

I figured I would resurrect this thread instead of creating a new one. I originally put in a switch when I changed out my radio to a Kenwood, but I had an interesting thing happen. When I don't put up the antenna, everything is muted. I had the same setup and radio in my X300 and it worked fine.

Hi friends! I hardly listen to FM radio and that's why the constant extension of the antenna when listening to a CD bothered me. Originally, out of laziness, I just wanted to pull fuse no. 9 in the trunk, but with my 1999 XK8 it was a miss! Everything went silent...I have the Harman Kardon version, so this attempt didn't work. So I took off the armrest and really...thanks to the information here on the forum it was easy. It took me about an hour and a half. I looked at another task - the torn cup holder...And I cleaned up the sticky, crumbling insulation around the cables under the armrest a little. Well, and I also studied the area around the electro-hydraulic roof pump a little. But that's for another thread..In conclusion, I would like to thank everyone who makes videos, writes instructions and posts photos that make the rest of us work easier.

I am going to do this. Bought switch today and removed centre console. Located the grey connector with LGB wire but cannot pull it apart. What is the trick to separate the connector?

I did this antenna cut off switch to my 97 xk8 a while back, I dont remember which color wire I used but mine works like this:
car off, switch off…start car no antenna rise
if I flick switch to on car running, antenna rises….. however, flick switch back off while running, antenna won’t go down till car is shut off. Works for me though, switch is always on off as I use Bluetooth for music and never am/fm radio. I mounted switch inside center counsel and it lights up when in the on position.
