I agree.

Until you get lots of horsepower on a wet road, that is :-)

Oooh, who's a naughty boy for daring to suggest other cars handle better than the XKR? To put the record straight, my XKR is the nicest, most luxurious and powerful car I have ever owned since I passed my test 30 years ago. It handles a lot better than my Ford Transit van, but is not as chuckable as my MX5... obviously. That's not why I bought it - I didn't like the GTI (soulless, FWD, etc) so I changed it for the Jag, which I LOVE driving. It's incomparably nicer to drive, but I still enjoy getting in the MX5 on a sunny afternoon to attack the twisties near our home.

Is that better?

Thanks everybody.

I was thinking I could reduce the stable.

Now it seems I'll have to keep the Miata and get an XKR.

Drat!

Frog, if your xkr were a convertible...would you even have a reason to keep the miata?

You're absoutely right. I am, in fact, selling the Miata because, fun though it is to drive, it's just too cramped and noisy for medium or long distance trips.

In many ways I regret not getting the XKR convertible, but my next car (hopefully) will still be a DB9... coupé.
