Default how does my car breathe?

This 06 xkr victory edition runs OK but we live in dusty desert. In trying to expose air filter for inspection, cleaning or replacement, I cannot determine how the atmosphere makes it to the folded paper surface. Main pipe disappears into passenger (USA LHD) chamber behind wheel well covering. Could a foreign object like a plastic grocery bag ever get caught up in there somehow? Thank you.

I have attached a parts blow up of the air cleaner. If it can get plugged up, I don't think so. I have never heard of that happening.

We can't find the outermost part of the scoop itself. Fender mud guard flap entirely conceals that chamber or whatever that is behind headlight assembly. But thank you for image confirming there is no labyrinthine routing of additional stuff.

It is straight into the void. It is visible with the underside tray removed. The location is so that it is a cold air intake but available to direct wet weather.
