How to remove 2 bumper covers

Does anyone have a good idea on how to remove the 2 bumper covers on an XK8? There are two long fir fasteners each that attache to the black horizontal structural bar.

Fir fasteners aren't reusable, just slice off the head and toss them. Most auto part stores stock packages of various sizes for replacements.

Thanks Vern. I guess you can push the remaining piece down through the hole in the structural bar
