how to replace top raised switch

Well Gus, right now I'm not sure its bad. I had no connection to ground thru the switch when I checked it at the connector. After reading some other posts I opened the valve on the pump and opened the top latch with the allen wrench. I then closed the valve and pushed the console button to close the top, the top closed and latched. I now show the top raised switch is closed. The rear windows didn't go up until I had pushed the top up switch several times. I then used the console button to open the top and all that happens is the rear windows go down , no chime and the top does not unlatch and open.
I tried the door switch but that won't open the top either. I checked the switches up by the rear view mirror and they are working. Fluid level in the hyd tank is ok.

Walt,
Your windows will not go up until the rams / lifts are fully extended. You also need to know that the button and key are an off and on switch if you release either one before the open / close cycle is completed it will stop and the complete operation will stop. That roof operating system has a series of relays, switches and two control modules that make it work and all must be satisfied for a complete operation. This leads to another possible problem and that if you are not prematurely releasing the buttons then what is causing the slow operation.

Gus,
No, I'm trying to find the body processor module plug so I can see if it's connected. All the switches are closed and have a good ground connection thru them. I need to see if that grnd. signal is getting to the BPM.
Fuses all are good, still looking for problem. The only thing that happens with the door or the console switch is held on is the back windows go down. Sometimes after repeated pushing and holding the top up switch the back windows will close.
Hood not latched is still displayed even though the it's latched and the switch is closed.
Regards Walt
