Default I have been out of the loop for a bit

I have not had much time top spend on the forums lately but I will endeavour to show myself a bit more now....... I was working on this....

We started off with a 2000 XKR coupe in Sapphire Blue

The idea the customer wanted was to change it to Claret which is now used on the newer Jaguars

Everything was stripped out apart from the engine itself and the bulk head

All rust was removed/treated, etch primed and painted

The engine was stripped, cleaned and painted, white with red lettering, I will not deny it grows on you!

The rest of the car was painted, we even designed a new bumper so people wanting to fit the X150 style kit did not have to go to the lengths of blending the rear bumper, this has a built in diffuser and exhaust apertures more appropriate for a large oval but the customer wanted quads

Was very happy with the result!!!

Tell you what, that's outstanding - did you detail underbonnet with an airbrush? It's funny how it gets a rough blow over by Jaguar, not much paint in there at all, but 30,000 cars, at 1-2litres of paint is a massive saving. Kudos on the work man!

Beautiful work! But I have to ask if it wouldn't have been less expensive to have traded cars.

Beautiful work, Tony-

I must say that my heart sank a bit when I saw the rear bumper and diffuser...very nicely done. I've always thought these cars needed the diffuser in the rear, especially the early models like mine.

My car is presently in the paint shop with the 2005 rear bumper copy you sent to me...I wish I had known the diffuser option was available...I would have taken it!

That looks awesome. I bet there was a few bloody knuckles trying to prep the areas around that engine.

Even under the bonnet/hood had a good finish......... As to trading cars, you would have to of found one in the exact spec wanted, quite a feat, the colour is very similar to Carnival red but actually a lot brighter.

At the time Scott that particular bumper was still in the designing stage, it has only been in the last 2 weeks that it has been available, I haven't even released it on our website yet......

I shall be starting the US car very soon that was shipped over to us, I will start a new thread up for that one.....

Unbelievable work! Very nice. I don't think crate motors come out of the box that clean.

While I do have a soft spot for the blue (see pic and sig line), the new color is great on the car. The white engine bits will have to grow on me though.

Tony
Your right that color combination looks beautiful, without seeing it if you said red & white most people would turn their nose up at it.

Beautiful work, no doubt about it. When are you going to open a shop in The Colonies?

Yep, you haven't returned any of my emails. Anyway when you get this sorted would be interested in that bumper/defuser. Assuming it will work on a 2004 US Spec car.

XKRacer,
That coupe looks outstanding. Obviously, as a Carnival Red owner, I'm biased, and that color you used is so very close (if not the same). The bumper/diffuser is just beautiful, and lends an air of modernity to our classic cars. Keep up the good work.

XKR Racer,
Magnificent! I like the flashy white engine covers and the rear bumper diffuser is wicked. My only criticism is that IMO an oval exhaust tip should have been used instead of the factory dual tips. As is, there's a slight gap between the tip and the exhaust opening on the bumper. Did the owner opt for any other exterior mods?

I actually do say it is designed for a large oval as opposed to a quad but the customer wanted quads so that is what he got!!!

Rob.... Before I even saw your post I found your emails, they kinda got lost in my email and I have responded

As to the rear light looking out of place, I think it was just the angle of the pic as it looked fine otherwise

But thanks for all the comments

This was the front of the car
