Identify HID/Xenon Headlights

First things first, HID/Xenon are one type of bulb, the other is halogen. The easiest way to tell is to observe your lights at night and watch when you turn them on.
Do they immediately come on and are bright? If so halogen.
Do they come dim slightly and then brighten? If so HID
The HID's will come on slightly and then you can see the igniter fire and the bulb slowly become bright.

Thanks Guys, I'll check.
Reading the "2003 MODEL YEAR XK SERVICE TRAINING TECHNICAL GUIDE" it says that all HID/Xenon lights have self-levelling and power wash. The self-levelling goes through a down/up cycle when turned on. I don't have either so it looks like I have halogen. Avern1's test also suggests that.

While obtaining quotes for a replacement lens, British Parts UK contacted Jaguar and obtained the "Vehicle Details" for my VIN. No HID/Xenon lights shown so I have Halogen.
Nice to have those details and good service so I've ordered a replacement lens from them. Looks like fun to fit and just hope the bolt isn't frozen. Thanks to all who responded.
