Ignition Coil

Ignition Coil
Wouldn't you know - As I cranked up last night to go to the Jaguar club Christmas party, the engine felt a little rough. By the time I got to the main road the car was definitely not running right and the MIL started flashing. Drat! Slink home slowly and borrow eldest daughter's SUV to go to party, advertising her Pampered Chef business the whole way. I'm glad she was in town for a visit.
Pulled codes this morning and found a few related to misfire and emissions. Since there were more than a couple cylinders on report for misfiring, I just pulled all the plugs and found one that had obviously not been at a very high temperature during the last run. I put that coil in another position, cleared codes, and ran again. Same symptoms, but the computer was complaining about the suspect coil.
Thankfully, there was a coil in stock in the area and my car is back in service. It's nice to win one every now and then!
