Default Ignition coils

I had a coolant leak on Bank 1 that has affected the ignition coils on that side. I have decided to replace the ignition coils completely but am not certain whether I have two pin or four pin coils. I don't wish to try to take the top of the motor apart to find out and wonder if there's a simpler way. I drive a '99 XK8 convertible made in the UK.

Well its only 6 bolts with a 7mm socket and you can have a look ...leave the cover off until you get the new ones. It highly unlikely that you will need new coils ..probably got oil or water in the plug holes ..blow with compressed air before refitting coils.
The one nearest the front will have 2 or 4 wires to it.

^^What he said.

'99 XK8 is the AJ27 engine, hence 4-wire coils.
