Im asking this here for a reason....
Yesterday I posted on the XJ8 listing and got no replies. Maybe I can do better here since it seems we have a ton of talented mechanics posting here.
Anyway, my 99 VDP sucked a valve. I am planning on fixing this since the car is in VGC and only 100K on her. So I know the tensioners (which need to be done) can be swapped with the Linclon ones (which are a little cheaper) but I am going to remove both heads and have the one fixed and the other checked and see the gasket set is quiet expensive. My question is, can I use the Linclon gasket set for the heads ?? Its also less expensive and while I know being cheap can have its problems these are basically the same engines (Linc/Jag).
I will also ask what the general cost are for these items. I asked this on the other listing and got no replies. I am finding the tensioners for about $140-150 a pair. Gasket set depends on if its a Jag or Linclon but am wondering if anyone knows a place that offers it at a better price.
