Default Instrument panel/ gear shift electrical issue

I have 2001 XK8 convertible. Lots of freezing rain and sleet 3 days ago. A little water got in the car at the windows. This a.m. knocked rest of ice off the car and drove about 10 miles to a friend’s house. When I went to leave, the car started fine, but gave several beeps and “Er” message on the air conditioner LED. Also the car would not come out of park and the cruise control ON/OFF didn’t work and NO instruments on the dash other than the clock worked. I was able to override the gear shift lock and drive home. The vehicle care handbook revealed it should be driver side fuse box # 14, but that fuse was not blown. Also checked fuses 5,6, and 7 dealing with the BPM. I looked through the other fuse listings but none seemed relevant. Because the cruise control on/off switch and no instruments work, it really should be fuse #14. Does anybody have any thoughts of what the problem could be?

Put a fan in the cabin in the sunshine and dry it out thoroughly before seeing if you need to dig deeper.
