Default Interior Door Lock and Battery?

Replaced the battery in my 06 XK8 yesterday. Still have to reset the window up/down limits, but have encountered a new issue:

The interior door handle doesn't unlock the door when the ignition is switched off.

Have read through the sticky threads on interior door locks without finding my issue. Can someone point me to a solution other than replacing the microswitches?

TUVVM (thank you very, very much!)

Default Fixed!

To quote the late Gilda Radner, "Never mind."

I reset the window up and down limits and found the door latch issue was cured as well. Very convenient but slightly confusing. In ignorance, i failed to know there was a link between door lock and window travel limit.

Try lubricating the door latch assembly with focused shots of silicone spray into the assembly. This restored normal door handle / door latch operation in my wife's 2006 XK8 for several months during the latter half of 2018 before I finally bit the bullet and replaced the microswitches. I still need to replace the passenger door latch assembly microswitch a second time. Wayne (cjd777) and I hope to get back to finishing that job soon....
