JAGUAR XK8 fuel rose HELP!
Hi my dear fellows. I have a nice Jaguar XK8 Conv 99, in Brazil.
Where everything imported costs a fortune, specially British car parts.
It is sitting for more than 9 months. With the tank disassembled, Because of a small FUEL ROSE that stays inside and at the bottle of the tank. Unbelievably Jaguar DOES NOT sell this rose, ONLY the WHOLE TANK!! Absurd.
I have contacted several Jaguar dealers, talked to many mechanics and rose manufactures. And nothing.
Do you know
- Who can sell this rose used ?
- Who can sell a fuel rose with the same diameters ?
- Who can refurbished it (with it is viable) ?
- Who can make an adaptation ?
Rose Dimensions: d1 = 8 mm d2 = 17 mm length = 11 cm
Thanks in advance

That in inches is a 5/8 to 5/16 reduction. Hard to find reducers that size on Google but found 1/2 to 1/4 inch reducers. Something like these and some tube?

Are your measurements the OD of the part on each end or the ID of the hole on each end? I agree woox4 is on the correct track just be sure the hose and plastic is fuel rated. You can also get the same barbed fitting in brass from any hardware store. Should be ables to make tight using a clamp instead of a tie wrap.

A very unusual failure. I can't recall reading another example of this on the forum. As JagV8 says, if there is no demand Jaguar will not supply it separately.
It's not worth taking risks with the fuel storage or supply line so I would go with the correct part. Jandreu has good advice pointing you to the forum CLASSIFIEDS:
PRIVATE For Sale / Trade or Buy Classifieds - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
You should be able to find a complete tank at a fraction of the cost of a new one from Jaguar.
