Jaguar XK8 leather repair kit and advice?
I've found the following kit:
Deluxe Leather Repair Kit - leather repair kit, vinyl repair kit, leather cleaner, leather cleaning, leather dye & paint
To repair the following leather:
Should I get low gloss, semi or gloss? Do you think I'll see a lot of improvement?
Cheers!

jagosaurus, the leather on my '98 XK8 wasn't quite as bad as yours. For $100 I had a "Leather Doctor" come to repair drivers' bolster and front of sitting area and the front of passenger sitting area. He cleaned seats then used a vinyl spray that perfectly matched my Cashmere interior. He even sprayed the bottom of bolster. There is some kind of cheese clothie type fabric showing. I think the previous owner got caught in the rain with top down and let it dry in the hot sun. It looks like the leather shrank. The repair looked great for about 9 months then I used a leather conditioner. Something in the conditioner disolved his work. Calling him back when the weather get nicer. Jack

wow, I thought my seat was bad, that one could use some work. I replaced my leather, but my upholstery shop claimed he couldve redyed it so it would look like new. I told him my bolsters had been dyed twice, and only lasted a year each time before it rubbed off. He claimed his black seats have lasted for 5 years, and only now showing any wear. Ok, black and dove grey are a little different to perceive 'thinning' spots.
I dunno about a DIY kit, others have had some good results with them, however.

You might want to educate yourself about leather on the internet. I would begin by looking @ www.leatherique.com or http://leatherique.net/. There are some other websites that also address the cracking leather problem. It is a repair that can be handled without a professional.

I did my ivory seats last month with a full sand-down & respray using a kit I ordered in the UK. Write-up here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...recaros-50032/
