Question 97 xk8 wire chase no power to coils injectors windows locks top

I purchased a beautiful 97 xk8 paper weight as a crank no start... I need help.
When the key is turned only the hvac and radio work. No ign power to coilpacks injectors fuel pump windows top or door locks. The car had a viper that has been removed the ign wire had been cut and soldered. I quickly chased relays and fuses finding them to be good. I jumpered the ign relay and the car fires right up runs and drives with no door locks windows top etc.

I suspect have a broken wire/bad connection and or a dead central locking system. I've scoured the diagrams but they aren't very descriptive. My modis only goes back to 04 so I don't think that will help trouble shoot either. Any advice will help. Only codes are for the cps and random misfire because all the coil wires are shot. Car runs drives and shifts fine with ign relay jumpered. Something is not triggering my relays in the acc on or run positions.

Lots here with more knowledge and/or experience than me but ............... many of the relays have a permanent +12v battery supply, and the switching is via the ground / earth connection.
First thing I would check is the supply to the starter relay coil - it won't have both, but may have 12v + and not 12v -, or neither !!
Gives you somewhere to work from.

I assume you have a wiring diagram - if not :

I see you're working on a '97. They often have a problem with the ECU, apparently due to leaking capacitors. If you don't appear to be making headway consider sending the ECU to ASI for testing, but call them first to get a work order number.

In that case, I suggest that you try the following :

Find and check the inertia switch (I think it's on the RH side down by the floor on a LH drive car) - this switches battery negative / ground to many of the relays.
Otherwise - it's possibly the ignition switch, which also switches battery -ve to the relays (via the inertia switch).

See if any of that works !

I reset the inertia the day I bought the car but I'll check it's ground connections if that's the headwaters!

In the driver's side fuse box in the engine bay, check the 10a fuse that controls the ECU, fuel injector and starter relays, and voltage regulator. I recently had a similar problem. It turned out to be a shorted voltage regulator and I had to replace the alternator.
