Jaguar XK8 (X100) squeak from windscreen header rail
I have a 2000MY XKR with a loud squeak/chirp from the top of the windscreen area. (header rail)
Searching through my TSBs I thought there was one for this fault but I find NOTHING.
Something tells me I went through this years ago when I worked at the dealer but I don't remember.
Guess I'll take it apart and look for the obvious.
It's got to be something just a little loose?

Just driving down the road. My wife drives the car and complained about the squeak so I tightened the braces from the bulkhead to the suspension towers.
Squeak still there so I drove and heard the noise coming from above my head.
Top up or down, no difference.
I pushed up tight against the interior trim and no difference.
Guess I'll disassemble the trim and check ALL the fasteners in the header rail. (ALL hydraulic lines already replaced years ago so that is DONE)

The annoying squeek on the XKR I had turned out to be windshield mouldings rubbing the glass. A little rubber tape between the glass and the mldg did the trick. I think the squeek was the reason they sold the car. I suspect that the windshield had been replaced and the sealant was slightly thicker causing the interference.
