Default Just updated the headlights!

Just installed my Xenon headlights today. I have been waiting hours for it to turn dark. Time to go for a spin

We'd love to hear the details of your install, and how about some pics of before and after...best way to show off your hard work.

After going for my test drive, about 20 minutes into the drive, the driver side light went out I went home and switched the bulb over to the passenger side and it worked just fine. So, I am assuming I have a bad ballast. I sent an email to the guy on ebay hopefully I will get a good response and he will replace my ballast.

As far as the install goes I would recommend anyone who plans to attempt this to jack up the vehicle and take the wheel off. There is just not enough room with the wheel on. Other than that it is very simple. I used thick double sided sticky foam tape to mount the ballasts. I mounted the passenger side about even with the fog light. Inside there is a nice clean piece of metal towards the motor that works nicely. All access is from the splash panel in the wheel well.

I mounted the driver side to the window washer reservoir, which is down near the fog light.

As for pictures I will take some when I get the new ballast. I chose the 6000K lights as I like a little more color without looking too after market. I should have taken a picture when I had only one side in. The difference was quite impressive. Maybe I'll put the stock light back in until the ballast gets here and take a picture to show the difference.

That's where I got mine from. Good service and good product. Easy to install and everything was included in the kit.

I upgraded to xenon a few months ago. I got the cheapest kit I could find. They are basically all the same, except for the slim ballasts, and 55 watts. I went w/ 5000k and the light is perfect. The projector lamps in the XK8 are perfect for this upgrade in lighting.
