trying to program a new fob on my 98 xk8, tried the using the turn switch pulled toward me method but can`t seem to achieve programming mode. the little light beside the gear shift flashes but goes again and I don`t get any chirp noise that I`ve heard mentioned. Any ideas please.

 

Mine doesn't chirp either. As long as the light flashes you are good.


The batteries in the remotes need to be good and the correct ones. One of mine had a battery that was too thin.
