Default Late XKR - confirming mileage is genuine

Hello, I’m new to this forum so hopefully some of you can advise me.

I’m currently searching for a low mileage X100 XKR (2005 or 2006), is there a way to confirm the mileage is genuine? For example on Ferraris from this era the mileage was also saved in the gearbox & many newer style cars it’s also saved in the key.

Does anyone know where we can check to confirm the mileage?

Thanks in advance

I think that the mileage shows up in an ODB scan if your scanner is a good model.

Ok thank you. I’ll do some more research.

If it is UK-registered you can look up history here:

Are the XKRs that valuable? Valuable to the point of going through the brain damage of re-chipping the cluster, or whatever, in order to fake the mileage?

I know the XK8s wouldn't justify it unless perhaps it was some particularly rare specimen. But I have no idea about the XKR.

I question this also. I would say that there's no much more of a risk with an XKR then what is probably average risk of this happening. I think I would at least pull a Carfax or similar and sort of match up with what is in the cluster currently and see if it makes sense. I think by and large if it's off enough to be an issue it will be pretty obvious with these few things.
