Leaking coolant above passenger side CAT.

Leaking coolant above passenger side CAT.
In the middle of changing the tensioners and timing chains. I decided to remove the cats in order to install new cats from nameless performance.
I finally found the coolant leak that I have been smelling for a year or better. It is directly above the passenger cat. The connection is some sort of wiz bang factory make it easy to assemble connection. There is a molded three way hose. I'm thinking of cutting it all out and using a molded plastic three way connection. I'll post a few pics in a few minutes.

First of all, I'm jealous of your new cats. I want them, and eventually I'll get them.
Second, it sounds like you might be talking about the "octopus" heater hose assembly. Lots of guys have had to change it out, and it can be a bear. If you've got easier access now, it might be worth replacing. Easier to do with the throttle body off, even easier (but not easy) with the intake manifold / induction elbow off. And probably the coolant reservoir.
Enjoy those new cats!

That is the highly prized Norma connecter you are referring to. It has an 'O' ring that can be replaced to stop leaks but no one that I am aware of has been able to get the connector apart with out destroying it.
And . . . yes it is there to make production line assembly easy.
Some, not very religious, Jaguar owners have replaced it with a few inches of 5/8" heater hose and some screw clamps rather that replace the 'octopus' hose that it is a part of.

Octopus resembles the look of the component. Hear is a pic I promised 720 minutes ago. I'll go to Gus's web page to look it up.
I will see how much the octopus is tomorrow, in the mean time I have cut out the norma connection and added a straight 3/4 to 3/4 . Stripped the norma off the metal tube and just slipped a new piece of 3/4" from the octopus T straight to the metal tube. I then pulled the hose out from under the intake and threaded a new piece of 3/4 hose. Now the problem is the new genaric heater hose will not make the bend with-out a kink at the t-stat tower. The new problem is if I buy a new molded hose for under the intake I may not be able to get it on the metal pipe. All of this has been done with the intake and throttle body still installed. But the Cats are out, there is enough room from below to get to stuff.
So I just called it a day.

Is there no tool that can release the "Quick Release" connector? I ran across a photo(Drawing really) of a tool that claimed to be the proper one on a tool web site. They wanted a lot for it ($250?) I would buy one and lend it out but I simply can not find it again! There has to be a better solution than cutting the thing off and Mickey Mousing up a Patch... SOME ONE must have faced and solved this mystery. After all The Wing Nuts at Jaguar named it the "Quick Release" fitting, rite?
