There is an auto service place not far from my house in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles: British European Car Service

  • (818) 881-4177

I had talked to the mechanics there a few times before buying my XKR (actually they checked out the car I eventually bought) and every time I was there they were working on a white XKR coupe and I think it had white rims. Maybe you could call them for some pics or info.

Doug

Hey meat, you won't find many white w/ white rims, that's totally custom but you may be able to find a site that lets you 'see' a selection of rims on the xk8 via software magic.

I've seen the black w/ black aftermarket rims, but can't recall the location. Try looking thru our gallery section, perhaps one in there somewhere. Also, try cardomain, that may be where i've seen the black/black combo. good luck.

Meat try this site
http://www.discountedwheelwarehouse....Visualizer.cfm
I haven't used it but they let you visualize wheels on your car.

Meatman, black on black is an easy find...go to Tire Rack's website and you can view BUT white on white? Haven't found one of the "view on your vehicle" sites that even shows white as a color option for an XK coupe let alone anyone selling white wheels.

By the way...on the white on white note, I'm having trouble picturing that looking appealing. But, that's just my opinion. Don't know why I had to share that but I was compelled.

I haven't seen w/w but I remember when the taraus SHO came out they were w/w. and looked very good. You just need to add some Coker Tire red lines. And while your at it you could paint the wheel liners red as they did on a limited number of 1966 GTO'S.

White cars with a touch of red, as Ferris Buehler say's:
"would be so choice".

You just got to love keeping it clean. Brake dust on my factory chrome rims appears after 3 days.

All you need is a friend who has photoshop and they can do anything to the car you would ever want.

I just posted a net pic of a white xk with machined rims but the way the photo was taken the rims take on the color of the car. I'm still trying the learn the site so I posted it in the photo gallery.

thanks for the responses guys

i would go white/white because black/black looks great but kinda a normal thing on cars - and i think white/white is classy - i've seen a few high end cars white/white and liked it if done right

i would go white xk8 coupe with white 22's with limo tints all the way around

thanks again - hopefully someone can find me one pic

i did see a white coupe with like 18 white rims - but not the same if you know what i mean

as a side note will i have issues putting 22's on this car?

daddy - do you have a pic or red liners? i have no clue what that is

thanks

I'll take a pic of my mustang that I painted the liners red on. The car still has the all season tread on put you'll get the gist of the look. I usually run 18" chrome cobra r's in the summer but maybe i'll get around to it this fall. Also a line i like its in the details. I'll take a pic of the "r " rims and the touch of red I added to them as well. Yes, I really do have an XK8.

Pics I promised. Lets hope this works. I painted the stud wells red on the rims for just a touch of color. Then on the wheel wells i painted the inserts red. The intake on my xk was due to the bellows portion rotting from below. The high flow set up is from jagxp. The only caution with this set up is after 3 years the rubber on the air filter becomes hard and brittle. But good ole permatex seals the deal. Should have bought a K&N filter. Must save some coin first.

So okay everyone let me have it for my wierd ways of being different with my vehicles.

How about a white Jag and wheels with a polished rim and either bronze or gold center?

Mike

Default A Styling Triumph

The "Victory Edition". Fittingly, the "Spoker" wheels were the subject of a massive recall.
