lug nut noise issue
As I was trying to see if I had any wheel movement by pushing/pulling on the tire sides (this was what showed me the endlink issus) I was getting no movement at all, so I took a rubber hammer and made some firm whacks on the tire. I got an interesting "whanging" sound like a loose brake caliper shield. So, maybe........
Tomorrow I'll check further.
BTW: when I look down at the sway bar bushing I can see clean metal for about 3/32" on the bar, but the rubber bushing looks pretty thick. I don't suppose this could be related since the noise stopped with brake application but..........??
Check your caliper mounting bolts too ... someone on JF replaced his calipers and had the bolts back out. The bolts take thread locker at the factory as do the OEM replacement bolts and many people ignore this on a DIY.
Hi I have a similar noise. The local jaguar garage took it on a test run with me in.We went over the humps and they reckon it's the sway bar bushings.
Not covered by my guarantee so I will do it when the weather warms up.
Cheers Al

I am having a very similar issue. Had a lot of front-end work done last year and things were great. A couple of weeks ago, got out to the car after work to find a flat LF tire. Put the full spare on and took everything to the tire store where they repaired and did a rotation (tires have <10K on them). They reported that there was no damage to the tire, but that the rim on the LF had damage to the chrome plating and the tire was losing air around the rim. Had them put the flattened tire onto the rim from the spare which seems to be holding air just fine. Now need to do something about getting a new wheel or having mine repaired.
Immediately after this repair, however, started hearing a rattle in the front-end whenever I go over a bumpy patch in the road. Don't know if it's related to the lug nuts, the wheel or something completely unrelated.

I'd guess that's the next step....but I haven't driven the car in at least 3-4 weeks. If you go back to the shop we'd all be interested in what they say.

Interesting. I didn't have any single harsh event that might have caused damage, but when all the noise started it was after (and probably during) part of my last trip up north. I took a "shortcut" over the mountains to avoid roadwork and heavy traffic and part of that (about 30 miles) was rough/uneven surface. I could tell it was working the suspension hard, and when I got to the next town (another 90 miles) the clunking and clattering was easy to hear. That was mostly sway bar end links, but the rattly sound didn't go away with all the component replacements EXCEPT the sway bar bushings.

Although on the way home the engine started acting up...lots of sputtering and restricted performance lights. Can't possibly be related, but it wasn't happening before I took the car in...
The charm of Jaguars.
During the sway bar bushing and steering line repair he may have disturbed or disconnected a sensor. Something as innocuous as the water temp sensor line disconnected can create the same symptoms.
Hello Folks,
I also was enjoying the not too cool effect of jingle bells on the way down our rather uneven road so I took off each of the lug nuts (one at a time of course) and squirted hot-melt glue from a glue gun around the cap/nut join and as far as I could, into the gap. Then a quick tidy with a knife.
Went for a test and no more more sleigh ride!
Cheaper than buying new nuts and you can't see the fix
