maf sensor

Cool maf sensor

hi again forum, i took the maf sensor out gona use the maf cleaner let dry and reinstall....on the you tube videos inside that cylinder that the sensor is attached there is a screen and wires that should be cleaned..... i don't have any screen in side my cylinder to be cleaned ?????? should there be ? it's a 2001 xk8.........................thanks again tony

Just remove the MAF sensor from the housing (2 screws after removing the wiring harness). There are 3 sensors within. 1 big one with a blob on the end easily seen and 2 tiny ones hidden deep inside the vertical column - you will need a pen torch to view them. These were the gungy ones on my MAF. If you fill the column with cleaner and keep your finger on the end you can agitate the fluid and soak them for a "deep clean". Don't forget to clean the electrical connectors as well.

Made a big difference to my car - got rid of yellow engine light and error codes.

now i got it...did just that....only thing i didn't spray was the plug from the engine, wasn't sure if i should.........anyway after the cleaning and the reinstalling i had the engine check light reset now we'll see what happens ( hopfully nothing ) thanks again tony
