Has anyone had any luck with remanufactured MAFS? The price difference is amazing between new, used and remanufactured. Any input is welcome!

How much of a price difference are you finding between a new one and a remanufactured one?

As critical as these sensors are, I might try a reman'ed one but I would not risk a used one....

Two biggest failures in my experience (with MAFs from various manufacturers) has been dirt on the sensor and broken leads inside the MAF, between the connectors and the board. That's not to say a component couldn't fail but I'd bet that if someone is remanufacturing them it would be because of something simple or the OE has assembled the MAF into a huge housing that doesn't go bad yet adds siginificant expense to the part (consider the ABS controller and throttle body.)

Gus -

You must have been reading my mind. I was just thinking about that this morning. I would also be interested.

I have been running a remanufactured one for my 4.2L S-type from Advance Auto for at least 2 years with zero issues.

New MAFS range from $250 to $400, Used from $125 to $200 (90day to 6mo exchange) and a remanufactured is from $100 to $175.

I wanted to know before I spend the money if the remanufactured is an option. It seems to me that they are replacing the electronics and testing them to meet the manufactures suggested values but I guess it is all in where you purchase it. I have no use for anything that does not work and get a little annoyed when its life expectancy is less than desired.

Steve you got yours from Advance Auto? What was the cost then?
