My indy shop tech recomended Marvel Mystery Oil to help with keeping the inside of the engine clean. I tried a pint in the engine and it helped with the chain noise (he thinks the oil port to a tensioner may be partially clogged).

Just wondered if anyone has any experience with MMO.

Yes, it is well known urban myth, much like slick50 and the rest of those lazy man's wonders. A pint of transmission fluid works the same way, but costs a lot less.

Default Marvel Mystery Oil

I've had a can on my shelf for most of my life and use it occasionally, mostly to coat cylinder walls when winterizing my PWC motors, lubricating throttle cables, stuff like that.

You can mix it 50/50 with Acetone and make a great liquid wrench type product.

50 years ago he might have been right. Today? I wouldn't risk diluting and contaminating the engine oil with it. There is no such thing as a miracle in a can.
