Hi guys,

Now you might think I'm a bit sad, but I noticed that there is a slot for a pen in the glovebox, but mine is missing. Does anyone have one, and if so, can I have a Photo of it!
Want my car to be 100% complete...

Cheers

Josh

Wouldn't surprise me if there was never a pen provided in them? Not much of a comparison I know, but I had a Mk. I Mondeo many moons ago that had a pen-slot down by the handbrake, but no pen. That was alright - that was all the motivation I needed to get a beautiful Cross Century Classic (in the gold trim, natch!) which I still have - it lives in the General's cassette bin, where the satnav would be if I didn't usually know where I was going! ;o)

Ah so it was up to the Jaguar owner to head to the Mont blanc shop to buy a pen that complimented his interior! Got it!

I just keep a refillable pilot pen in there. No fancy pen, in part because I can't afford one.

You've got the wrong pen model.

I have a beautiful rose wood pin with Jaguar engraved in it and the leaper too I think. A fried gave it to me, he found it at an estate sale. I’ll take a picture of it and see if it will fit in the pin holder. Never noticed there was one.

The question now is just, should I invest in a new Mont Blanc pen, or rebuild my suspension?

Only a pen finished in real wood and polished to a high gloss would be worthy of sitting in that slot.

You can still afford a Mont Blanc after owning a Jag?

Pen slot? I always thought it was for a telescoping miniature whip to go along with the pair of black fishnet hose stuffed behind the glove box....

Yes indeed. I'm told those items were originally included as part of the Victory Edition....

Mine came with two pens.

One was a gift from the previous owner, and the second was returned to him ... after he had torn his place apart looking for it. He was a pen collector.

I use it to hold my tire pressure pen. My guess is original Jag owners never checked their own tires.

Default Jaguar Pen

I have a regulation OEM/NOS Jaguar XK8 pen in the holder.

First the tensioner in the twisty mechanism cracked and needed to be replaced with a metal one, then the plastic clip broke due to heat fatigue. Soon after, the bushing between the barrel parts went bad and let mositure in, fogging the finish and after that the cartridge seal failed (too much pressure?) and I had a "blue shower".

In all, I've only used it half a dozen times (mostly signing checks for repair bills) and would replace it with a pen less expensive to maintain but every time I take it out people stop and tell me how beautiful it is.

A friend got me a goodie bag from a trade show and in it was the pen above. It's actually quite good quality and fits in the holder in the glove compartment just right. The goodie bag was from Jaguar Classic Parts (www.JaguarClassicParts.com) Wonder if they've got any more?
