Default mirror replacement

The rear viewmirror in my 98 is cloudy. So far not leaking. I notice the replacements are plentiful. I wanted to just get a good used one. Couple of questions. Are these things electrically powered? Referring to the wires. Can I just get a used one from an Acura and plug it in?

Your best bet is to send it to Sybesmas who will install a new mirror panel and if it's features were working before they got it they'll be working when you get it back but they don't have the equipment to test or replace the light sensors that it's equipped with.

I had them repair two mirrors for me. One with lights and auto diming mirror and another that had those features plus the rain sensor for the auto wipers. $97.00 each including shipping and they returned both mirrors looking and working as if they were brand new.

+1 on the Sybesma fix.

The Acura mirror swap is an option, but some minor wiring changes need to be done.

Sybesmas rebuilt mine 16 years ago and it's still fine. It was about $80 as I recall and very quick turnaround.

Prices have gone up since you had it repaired.
They first offered FREE repair for a short time, then they started charging for repair, now it is probably around $100+.
