Miscellaneous comments after 2000 mile trip
First, after getting a 'star' in the windshield (otherwise in mint condition) and - separately - a dent from another flying stone just aft of the DS headlight, and having the Jag fender pilot lamp assy jarred free, and having my (custom) grill panel fastenings damaged by the tank-testing roads of Illinois, I would encourage a rethink of taking the car - any car - into that state. Awful.
Moving on... it has taken me quite a while to solve the steering syndrome that I posted about a year or two back, but after my travel companion complained about my constant exceeding of the speed limit, even when I was parked on the limit at the speedo, a useful investigation began: The previous owner - non-mechanical gent - told me, and presented the invoice from the tire shop - that all four tires were the same, so I put the steering strangeness (sort of over-steer on certain curves and cambers) down to that. Of course, everyone except me (and a FL tire shop) probably knows that my 19" Atlas wheels are 8" wide on the front and 9 inch on the back, but by crude measurement and without taking the wheels off, the PS has two 9" and the DS has two 8". The wheel from the PS front will have to be swapped for the DS rear, and the tires remounted being of directional type. That error created two separate problems, now solved.
Can't come up with who posted about the glass tilt-adjustment hole under the door light cover comment, but thanks a million for that! No more wind howl. 15 minutes work. Doesn't get any better than that
Finally, after several weeks in the car, and with the cup-holders in use my my better half, the obstruction of the J Gate was diabolical, so thanks to the member who posted about creating a fix using BMW holders on the side.

I got a small stone break in the top of the windscreen travelling through France last year which my insurers insisted only needed a repair. It was sufficient to pass our annual inspection but I can still see it every time I drive the car. Perhaps a trip to Illinois would get me a proper break that requires replacement.

Always nice to hear about people's driving experiences. It's great to hear that the X100 is being enjoyed by others, with due thanks to the forum and all the improvements we share here.
As for Atlastajag1's right/wrong tyres being on the car, I blame it on the zombie tyre gorillas at the tyre shops. I'm always over their shoulder when I visit the tyre gorillas, as they constantly amaze me with how brainless they can be.
