Default MJA3900AD vs MJC3900AB (steering racks)

Guys, I just bought a reconditioned steering rack, on first inspection it looked slightly different to the one on my 2003 car, which is a MJC3900AB.

The recon unit has been painted black but the part number plate which is riveted on was still there, so after removing the paint from it I could see its original part number which is MJA3900AD. That part number relates to the rack used on early years cars.

Does anyone know what the differences are?
And, will it be ok on my 2003 car?
Or, shouldI ship it back?

I recall a TSB that talked about a steering wheel shudder in some early cars, related to the rack and/or the pump.

I forget the details. Sorry. But running that down may tell you what you need.
