Mobil Universal Sun Synthetic in a ZF 6-speed
Any of you ever tried Mobil Universal Sun synthetic in your ZF 6.speeds? It was recommended by a transmission shop and I have never heard of it.
Thanks
Thanks
Why not go with Mercon SP ATF? It has been long-proven in these ZF 6HP26 transmissions, meets the required Shell specs, and remains very affordable....
"Universal" is a dangerous term in the ATF world....

Great question! My research shows that Mobil 1 Synthetic LV ATF HP fluid "meets or exceeds" the requirements of JASO 1-A and Ford MERCON V. It is spec'd for 2000-2002 XK's with ZF6 transmissions. Both Mobil 1 Synthetic LC ATF HP and also Mobil ESSO ATF LT 71141 meet this spec, (as do Pentosin ATF1, Valvoline Maxlife ATF and MERCON V, among others).
2003-2006 XK ZF6 transmissions require an ATF that meets Shell M-1375.4 specs. Honestly, MERCON SP can't really be beat, and the price is right...
