Smile Mods vs Check Eng. Light

Hi All,
Just finished fluid and filter chg. in trans. I used lucas trans fluid. They claim it meets BMW/JAGUAR ESSO requirements. Shifts like a dream but long term?? The verdect is still out. I will do a post after a few thousand miles to tell you what I think. She has 105k at change time and YES there was a lot of wear metals in the magnets. Old fluid was cruddy. We will see if it does any good. The next area is mods. I did the airbox mod that adds another tube and snorkle from bottom of car. It was recently posted here and I must say WOW. This is NO bull, I'll bet it gained at LEAST 10 hp. I have had some powerful cars and I am sensitive to these things and I tell you it made a BIG difference in throttle response and mileage ( I am running an K&N air filter also). However, here is the trade off, I now have to look at the check engine light. It is a MAF code. I guess the computer doesn't know what to do with all that cold air. Any solutions? I was told to put a spark plug resistor (apparently it is a threaded insert that offsets the O2 sensor) between the secondary O2 sensors and the pipe thus, tricking the computer by taking them back just a little out of the exhaust flow. Any comments on that? I also plan to get rid of that big heavy muffler in the middle of the car and replace with X pipe. Any comments on these upgrades/mods? What about the check engine light? The engine really likes the extra air though, it's the computer that doesn't. Anyone done anything like this or have any comments? They would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Everyone

You should probably post the code(s) you got here so we can verify that its a MAF code. Jag codes can be different.

Could be as simple as an incorrectly installed connector on the MAF or maybe you knocked something loose when you did the mods.
