Mtgn. Bolt spacing for Alternator Air Duct
Broke the mtng. flat plate on the base of the air duct on y 2003 4.2l XK8. Due to New Part Exorbitant cost. I plan to repair the air duct. Have drilled out the 3/16 aluminum rivets but the base and bolts still attached to sump. Have been unable to arrange for anyone (PS: M.S. Handicap) to remove the (2) 8mm bolts (M6x16) to secure to broken pieces. Once the broken items are available, hope to be able to obtain the measurements from them. Plan to place the flat plastic plate with an aluminum and drill the mtgn. holes to reattach once the duct is riveted to the base. Hope someone can help, PLEASE.

Thank you Baxtor. The slotted holes are the ones I need the center to center distance. Can slot them. The flat piece that goes to sump and mounts by the M6 Bolts. Thanks again! 73mm is the C to C. figure?
correct, 73mm c to c. (also each slot is 11.5 mm long end to end)
Thank You Again!! Hope to get the bolts out and fab the flat plate a that fastens to the sump. Plan use countersunk screws once the hollow center is filled with thread able epoxy. Possibly a large number of these air ducts are damaged and only held by 1 bolt..
Glad you can piece this back together.
Most of these parts are NLA.
I had a few slightly damaged ducts from working at the dealer and saved them.
A customer came in to my shop and had underside damage from a truck tire tread on the highway.
Tore the oil cooler and ducts/parts from the car and an insurance guy showed up to assess the damage.
We had the car on the lift and the insurance guy was not happy that some of the parts were NLA.
I showed him that I had a used oil cooler and some duct parts so we worked out a deal to get the car back in running order.
The customer was happy to get the car back the way it was before the 'road-alligator' took out some vital underside parts.(detached truck tire treads look like alligators at night at 80 MPH)
