Unhappy My 2003 XKR Won't Start - DSC System Error

Hi. I would greatly appreciate any help here. My 2003 XKR decided not to start yeaterday after having sat in the garage for a week or so. After inserting and turning the key the 'DSC System Error' message is displayed, the headlights flash, wipers wipe once and the nav joystick flashes blue. There are probably other things happening also. If I try to start it there is a single click. The windows don't work but remote locking does. Very weird. p.s. I cleaned all 4 DSC sensors per recommendations from other threads but this didn't help. They really weren't very dirty given the car only has 22k on it. Many thanks for any insights and recommendations.

Sounds like a low battery to me. Take your battery to an Autozone or Advance Auto for a free check.

A bad battery can cause all manner of strange problems in these cars.

Smile XKR Won't start - sorted

Many thanks for the sage advice. It was indeed the battery. I put it on a drip charger and it still wasn't charged after 48 hours so I then bought a $4 multi-meter from Harbor Freight (my new favorite tool store) and it came back that the voltage was low. So off I went to the local Interstate Batteries distributor who sold me a new MTP 49/H8 for $147.95 (including leaving the old battery with them). This was substantially less than the local auto repair shops charged so worth the trip if not too far.
