Default My X100 XKR has been in storage for about a year..

Hi All,

What should I do and check before getting my vehicle started? It has been on a trickle charger and indoor storage since late 2021. Looking for feedback on what the best things to do before turning it over.

Thanks!

If the oil is fairly new before parking, should be fine for a run or two.
Check all fluid levels and pump the brakes a few times when you open the door and again before moving the car.
Hit the fuel pressure valve to confirm the pump is working and hope no lights are coming up on the dash.
Not a bad idea to plug in the OBD gauge to get a idea on the fuel trims or any misfires.
Good luck and enjoy,

Take the air cleaner element out and check for free airways. Mice, squirrels, and other assorted varmints do enjoy a nice quiet place to set up housekeeping. It’s a lot easier to deal with such an occurrence before trying to start the motor than afterwards.

Personally, I would be draining all the fuel from the system first, and putting in fresh gas. Srabil
and other such products are only so good….But there’s many schools of thought on that. Here’s what pure gas looks like in a carb set that’s sat too long

Is there a way to reduce wear when initially starting? Pull the fuel pump fuse or starter relay to prime the engine before starting?

Thanks!

yes. What you suggest. Make sure the oil and filter are new. Since synthetic oil has been shown to reduce friction, a quality synthetic of your choice would be a positive move. Mobil 1 0w-40 has a good reputation for having a substantial wear reducing additive package. It’s been good to me.
