As I consider which XKR to purchase I couldn't help but notice members listing AMG's in their signitures. I find that particularly interesting as friends continue to praise the limitless virtues of all things AMG, and noticed an equally limitless selection of them for sale on Autotrader.

So what about the XKR and XKF appealed to you discerning MB guys?

Almost 4 years ago when I bought the XKR, I had the SL65 and so I wanted something different than another AMG. At that time, the XKR looked like nothing else out there (still looks great now) besides possibly an Aston V8V. Eventhough I thought the Vantage was better looking, I didn't know much about Aston's reliability, the closest dealer was 45 min away and I could get a brand new XKR for the price of an used Vantage with full warranty so I went with the XKR. I thought the XKR was alittle under powered at that time but looking at stats it was quicker than the Vantage and Mags were running much quicker 0-60 times than manufacturer's claimes. Plus if I wanted more juice I can just drive the SL65. I almost traded in the XKR last week as I'm looking to get an Audi R8 V10 Spyder (or possibly the 991TT) but after reading some articles.....the R8 might have a facelift/redesign, S-Tronic, Park Assist, more power and possibly a V8TT next year (for 2013) and so I'm keeping the Jag for now.

Wouldn't a 2010+ XKR convertible suit your new goals, or are you feeling the need to try something completely different for a change of pace?

Would you sell the XKR to one of us before trading in?

Definitely will post once I'm selling. I've decided to keep it for at least another year as I'm still waiting to see if Audi will redesign the R8 for 2013. The Gallardo will be redesign soon and so rumors are the R8 should follow right after. Also...by next summer hopefully more info will be out regarding the 991TT (other car I'm looking at). The Jag has 8,400 miles and almost 4 years of ownership.....I just don't drive it enough.
