Mystery of engine light limited performance solved!
My '05 XKR was haunted with intermittent engine lights and choking hesitations on a maddeningly regular basis. Twice the ss clamp that fastens the inlet air manifold to the supercharger inlet had become loose. The clamp had loosened again o my last dealer trip. As I drove out with the engine light finally off, I stepped on it and bam! On again! Further investigation by the dealer discovered that a hole had been knocked in the manifold's down comer elbow the size of a medium chicken's egg!!
The bad news was 6 weeks for TaTa to come up with the part (only $211.00 US) but the good news was they effected a steelweld/epoxy repair that allows it to run as designed. The dealer stated that this clamp does fail to hold fairly often, and they do change it with other types in some cases.
