Default Name that hose

Can somebody help identify this hose on my 1999 XK8? It clearly need replacement but I have no idea what it is. It is on the passenger (right...right means right) side of the car, under the air filter. It runs up to the nose of the car, where it goes into a cylindrical spiky thing (which I also have no idea what it is).

Mystery hose..shot is from driver's side, looking down/across to passneger side.

nose of the car, looking down (radiator is aft of here)

The spiky thing is your power steering fluid cooler, so it is a power steering hose. The bit you've highlighted with the ? is just an anti-chafing sleeve, nothing to do with hose integrity. You could just take the sleeve off and replace it, you'll probably find that the pressure hose itself is fine.

The Power Steering Oil Cooler RH hose (see item 9):

As Jaguar haven't given it a name, you can call it anything you or 'Spikey' choose.
