Neutral switch pictures
The lever that touches the shift lever when in neutral has disappeared. Does anyone have a good picture of the shape (angle, bends, dimensions etc).
Rather than buying the entire assembly for BIG $$$$, I'm trying to replace just the switch/lever with a suitable sub.
Dimentions/shape would help a lot in determining what part would work.
That is unless someone has already done this research.

If you have taken off the switch assembly there should be one that you can use as a reference. The shift witch assembly hold the neutral and reverse switches. The reverse switch and the neutral are identical just in a different position. The low buck method is to find a breaker/wrecking yard and just pull off the assembly.
Recommend against using a used or patched repair on the 1996 - 2003 Jaguar XK8 transmission neutral safety switch.
The part new is approximately $650. It controls how the gear shift and transmission function. Mine failed in the middle of an intersection. Car came to a screeching halt. Sent a false signal to the ABS system. Got lucky cars were able to stop or swerve around me. These cars are 20 years old. Unreasonable for a used or home remedy repaired part to function that much longer. Only takes an hour to install, so total repair is under $700 and is cheap versus the exposure to serious accident. Do not like that logic or do not have the money, sell the car.
