Default New a/c compressor

Hi all, first post here goes. I have an XK8 1997 coupe and there is a leak from the compressor, though still works after re gassing two weeks ago, I know it will stop working at some point. A new Denso compressor is some £600 but there are other compatible ones advertised, like one from Teamec, for about £200. Anyone had any experience of these cheaper compressors? There's a few of them, all guaranteed like the Denso. Why not go with Teamec?

Hi Phillythessp and welcome to the forum.

The Rock place is showing the Denso 471-1382 at a few cents under $200. You will need to swop over the top with the ports, but the compressor ships with a new gasket & PAG oil.

The '97 has an extra connection for the clutch lock signal - but check since the Japanese-market cars seem to have a few differences.

Good luck with accessing the refrigerant connections. Member Gus has a how-to on his site of everything here:

edit: just noticed your location. My replacement came from the above supplier - was about £250 including the shipping around 18 months ago. I couldn't get anywhere near that price here.
