Default New Member, First Jag, Big Problems :/ Help Please!

Hey guys, this is my first Jaguar, a few of my friends have/had Jaguars so I decided to get one as a daily driver instead of my other car. I have a nice 99 Jaguar XK8, and I just bought it and spent every penny I had on it, I bought it from Tennesee (I live in chicago) and it died on me an hour after driving it! I ended up having to uhaul it back up to chicago (SLOW 10hr drive)

Anyways, it seemed like it wasn't getting fuel, so I replaced the fuel pump (silver thing) and it still does the same problem, cranks but wont start! Like its lacking gas or something.

I ran the computer and checked the codes they are as followed

P1000 and P1230 (for some reason, P1230 showed up twice on my computer)

The 1230 is a fuel pump relay (as I am told) so I moved around all the relays and it still doesnt start

Please if anyone has any advice, please help

Hang on mate, you do know the fuel pump is inside the fuel tank, right?

That's what I suspected, so I thought I'd ask.

No no, I replaced the fuel filter and pump, the only thing that I didn't replace is the big blue thing (not sure what it is)

This is a picture of what I replaced, along with the filter

Hey,
When you ask for diagrams, are you asking for schematics ?

If not, "what fuse does what" is in the manual. If you don't have, i think there's a DL link here on the forum...

Do you know if you're getting fuel pressure and/or spark ?

Getting spark, and plugs smell like gas, so must be getting gas. I am almost done replacing the plugs, we'll see were that takes me

OK, I'm seeing no spark since plugs have gas on them. Its an ignition issue and since it doesn't even try, lets me think its ALL of them.

Mmm, what would keep the vehicle from making spark ~ Mr. JagTechOhio ?

My car is sparking perfectly, that's not the problem. It just wont run.

Here's everything I've done to fix it with no luck (in chronological order)
-Ran Computer code, came up P1000 & P1230 (aka Fuel Pump Relay)
-Replaced relays with aftermarket relays
-Replaced Fuel Pump
-Replaced relays with Jaguar relays from dealership
-Replaced all 8 Spark Plugs

Still isn't starting!?!?!?!
I have not the slightest clue what could be wrong, I mean I bought the car on saturday and drove it an hour and it drove PERFECT, no overheating, no leaks, no nothing! And then it just bogged down on me and the little car computer said "engine stalled" and since then I have not been able to get it to run! It cranks but does not run!

I'd say Crankshaft Sensor, but that'd show an OBD-II Code.

How can you have spark and fuel, but nothing more... Its like your Timing Chain broke...but those just don't usually do that.

Maybe try spraying a little ether (starting fluid) in the intake and see if it 'coughs'... Don't think it'll hurt the MAF, but find out first !

Wow, a Diablo !
This was going to be a next venture, but prices seem to be creepy up.
Yes, I've owned a Countach (and a Jalpa) in the past. I love my Lambos !
I wish I still had it since the prices on these have almost doubled in the last 10 years, albeit mine did need a clutch ($ 15K I didn't have).

Ya know, A Murceilago Spyder is the dream car, but NEVER be able to afford a used one in my life time... Then again, I said that about the Countach when I was 15 !

Till Then, I just watch Nip/Tuck and dream of Christians.

Well, don't sell it yet !
We know the dealer (or a local Indy) may not the best place to spend your cash, but may be the best place for your diagnosis. They've got ways and if nothing else factory reps.
Hey, could just be a crank sensor !

I'm sure a tow would be less than what you paid to register it...
