Default New powder coated black wheel! Sweet

Since I purchased my 2002 XK8, I've needed new tires. $$$$$ so I started watching eBay to try to find a good deal. I also planned to get new wheels since my factory chromed wheels were in really bad shape. Pitted, chrome lifting and one bent.
About a week ago I came across a listing for a set in powder coat black with fairly new tires, about 3000 miles or less, on them. I hadn't planned on black wheels but I figured I could at least have these painted if I wanted.
Picked up my car today and literally stopped in my tracks. I LOVE the black wheels with my red growlers!!
Now red calipers!

Looks evil.

The finishing touch would be clear front side reflectors.

I'm looking at the adamesh clear with amber led's side markers.
When the arden kit goes on, the rear markers will be gone.

Think I'm tinting the fog lights and possibly the red portions of the tail and third brake lights.
I'm trying not to go too far but one thing leads to another!!
Have my hid kit but the transformer is quite large so I've got to figure out where to install it.

I'm catching up with ya buddy!!
I had the tinted side markers but I actually ordered the new side leapers and like the red accent. Also have two small Arden crest badges that go under the leapers once kit goes on.
Waiting for arden kit to go on next week then I'll install my front corner lights. The rear ones go away with new rear bumper.
Also think I'm tinting the fog lights.
And I ordered the red MGP caliper covers with yhe jaguar logo etched in black today. Going to have to modify a bit to fit but I'll get them on !!

Looks fantastic, I bought those wheels in chrome cause some guy was putting ridiculous 22's and didn't need the originals anymore.

My car is Red but after I'm done painting my other car I might go black. Or gunmetal

Very very cool. Love the black wheels. Thinking of getting mine powder coated. Don't like the chrome ring with the slightly darker spokes.

I actually liked the chrome when I bought the car but after costing out having them re chromed, aaaaaaa, NO!
So now I have a spare set in so so chrome. They look ok until you get down and really look then you can see the age on them.

Here we go!! Dropped off the car at my body shop to install the arden kit! It's killing me to to have it while the weather is amazing this week. But I know it'll be worth it.
Then I'll need driving therapy to get used to the lower front spoiler. Ugh!!!

Fantastic looking wheels! I've been looking for a black wheel that I like...but I'll just have them powder-coated after I buy them. It opens up a lot more options!
Thanks for the incentive.

FYI you can't powder coat over chrome, so always buy plain wheels

Looking good Phil. Nice overall look. Just wish I could see the color for myself. Based on the places where the light hits it just right, I bet it looks totally different in person than in the pictures.

Better throw in a shot of the interior for those who may have lost track of the changes there.

Tis sort of shows the color. It literally shifts from a metallic graphite to a deep dark chocolate brown. I started with Ferarri Nero black metallic and didnt like it, too black then I found a metallic walnut, too brown. I was so pissed I had spent soooo much money on paint alone (close to 1500.00) that while my painter was cleaning his spray gun, I took a bucket and dumped both colors together!! He couldn't believe what it did!! But once he mixed it and sprayed the front nose, we both new it was perfect. Luckily I have a quart left for touch ups and the paint shop made me a couple spray cans of it as well.
It's hard to photograph unfortunately!!

Here's the front bumper we tested the Frankencolor on!! It also made me rethink the black mesh and wheels. The new color begged for chrome and silver.
