Default New Problem after replacing roof hoses...

I recently replaced my convertible top hoses and the latch cylinder. When the job was done I tested the roof operation several times and all was well. (I have the pressure relief valve installed, but I`ve had that on the pump prior to the new hose install). Now though, when I push the top down button, the front windows go down an inch, the rear windows go down, I hear the pump and then the pump stops, the front windows go back up an inch (rear windows stay down) and I hear the "ding" sound as if the operation is complete. If I then push the roof down button again, the top will go down. It goes back up as normal. I guess I don`t mind pushing the button in this two step manner, but I can not figure out why this is occurring and how to fix it. Any ideas from all of you top gurus?? Do you think a hard reset at the battery would help any? Thanks...and man, the weather in South Carolina has been exceptional lately for the top down riding!

Is the latch opening all the way when you request for the roof to open the first time?

My second thought is that your system may need to purge the air in the lines.

Hey, I'm getting pretty good at this as I was going to suggest air in the lines but deferred posting until the real experts chimed in first (makes me proud to realize my guess was possibly correct).

Gus, the roof does not rise at all on the first push of the button. I thought the pump was self purging...can you suggest the best and least messy method to purge the system??
Thanks

The system is self purging and I would advise against any method of trying. How many times have you operated it? Have you checked the fluid level and that the petcock is closed? Check your PM
