Default New seats for my XK8?

Just bought a very mechanically sound 1997 drophead but the cosmetics need help. Interior is 'coffee' color, trim code SDC. I'm interested in replacing the seats completely and not just trying to recover them. Full set of almost the same color leather seats from an S-type or X-type are about 1/3 the cost. Does anyone know if any other seats such as from the S or X types would fit in place of the stock ones? No, I'm not being a purist and restoring this car, just want to clean it up a bit within a resonable cost. Goes to Tijuana Monday for a paint job, Sable Brown from the 1970's XKE's color. Thanks.

I don't know about the front buckets, but I'm pretty sure you can't do anything about the rear bench to cut costs.

Not worried about the rears as they've never been used...obviously. Just the fronts.

I'd be amazed if they fit.

For around $650 you can get new skins for the seats with a warranty and an exact color match. Add installation cost and maybe you get to $1k. Then you have no issues with modifying the car and all the electronics still work. Sounds like a cheap way to go to me.

Default Going with original seats

Simply, going to have the original seats recovered in leather to the stock color. Everyone was right. What a dumb idea I had!!

Let us know who you purchase the covers from and how it turns out. Enjoy the new car smell!
