New TB Question 4.0 xkr..No Throttle
Hey all. Well Im getting ready to pull my motor but wanted to make sure before I do that I basically hooked everything back up correctly. Well Besides my knocking noise the gas pedal does not seem to be communicating with the TB. I made sure everything was hooked up properly and all plugs in place. I'm figuring one of two things TPS bad or perhaps something needs to be setup programing wise??? Should I swap TPS from my original TB? Im going to see if I can run codes but figured this is probably one of those things that everyone but me knows about....Thanks!

Well I failed to mention and this could be an important bit of detain. My fan is not installed nor is there any water in the system. No codes come up but definitely get a engine failsafe mode and no traction control no ACS I just didnt want to hook that all up if my noise was still there which it is. But would that make my TB no work?

I originally thought I had a supercharger noise but it ended up being a rodknock. So after installing SC and associated components I wanted to see if the noise was still there. It was so I didn't bother putting fan back in nor fill full with antifreeze what was lost. I'm wondering now if me not having full antifreeze or fan hooked up would trigger this or if my new TB has an issue. Being I am now pulling motor to put my 4.2 in I want to make sure everything is fine prior to installation. Everything was fine prior to the SC replacement project.

Are you able to retrieve any trouble codes. I've had a few cars with this issue. There was a bulletin way back about changing pins in the connector to gold plated ones. If that's been done, its quite possible the sensor is faulty, or a wiring fault to the sensor. Try pulling codes and let's see what you have, and go from there.

No comes very strange. Maybe have it run a bit more and see if something pops up. I just don't know jaguars enough to trouble shoot certain things. Im used to simple TPS's and cable operated TB's :O)
