Default New used key fob issue. or is it damaged too?

I just received a new used remote key fob with matching codes on the back. Used the programing threads from here and everything worked except the trunk button.
The seller on ebay says every button showed working when he shipped, he ships a LOT of used fobs, so he won't replace or refund. My original fob worked fine for trunk and lights, but the door lock and unlock buttons no longer worked. He's saying my trunk relay must not work.
Since my original fob still worked for trunk, then the trunk must be functioning and its simply the new fob's button not working???
Any suggestions? I've opened and cleaned both sides with alcohol but still nothing.

and how would the seller have checked it completely unless he has a Jaguar or Ford security module sitting on the bench?

just tell paypal it doesn't work

make sure you hit all the timelines

I contacted him again and he says it must be my car. WHATEVER!!

If my car recognized the other fob for the trunk, I assume if the new fob trunk button worked, it would find it too

Advance Auto stores have a fob tester. You can use it to see if the trunk button puts out a signal.

First thing in the morning!!

So! Now that my door locking works from remote, which, by the way, I have a brand new one on the way! No more used, will the auto top work?
I don't think I'll be making it to you, so should my custom shop be able to do it?

As long as your remote works (including the headlight button) and your convertible top works, the remote top will also work....guaranteed.

Yes, your custom shop should have no problem installing it. I would allow them about 2 hours if they have not done it before.

Just print out the instructions that I send you to give to them. Also give them my email address which I will send you. I usually respond within a few minutes, and if necessary will hook up by phone if they need support. 95% of the installations go without a hitch, and the remaining 5% get through with a little help from me.

I ordered a replacement NEW remote, same codes on the back but it is an aftermarket remote. I just checked on its delivery and noticed a remote programming video so I hit play and it popped up that jaguar amongst other cars, isn't self programmable.
Now, I successfully programmed another remote, so shouldn't this one be the same?? Even though its aftermarket? It even has the growler on it.

It will probably work. Many other Jag models do not have self programmable remotes though.
