Default I love them

Phil. I think they look great! I would not paint them but I understand having a vision of what you want.

I don't think that you will ever be satisfied, no matter what, and if or when you are, you will decide to sell that car and get another one and start all over again.

Such is life.
You, sir, are correct!
At least I can finally say I'm really digging my wheels! Got my black centers finally on and washed her up. And I have to say my painters suggestion of the Ferrari Nero Daytona Metallic black color is really interesting. Still black but major metallic.
And any color it ends up will look great. They're all in the dark metallic family.

I'm betting the Ferrari colour is going to be a bit expensive.

Those are some nice looking wheels, no doubt about that. Of course, photos don't really convey what they look like in real life. I suspect that they will grow on you and you should leave them as they are.

Have you considered a black pearl? My Infiniti G20 was white pearl and looked amazing under full sun.

Dear Phil,
On the subject of paint colors, I am not a fan of the Ferrari metallic black, however, there is a beautiful 2013 Porsche 911 color called Anthracite Brown Metallic that is dark and very rich looking. A little lighter but still one of my favorites is the Buick Enclave Mocha metallic brown. Look them up online and I think you'll really like the Porsche color. Good luck with your choice.

oh yes, already looked at that color. It's really something. It's on a Panamera at the local dealership. And as for the Ferrari black, it really takes a sunny day to see the metallic, so it's really not what I'm thinking either.
I agree with a former post. I think my first idea is the best. Dorchester grey, or Stratus grey. Both very dark and similar in tone, and both look great with Chrome and black trim. I do want to see a slight difference from basic black, but not look bad with the engine bay and trunk.
I had a Stratus Grey XJ6L and it was SOO easy to keep clean and never showed swirl marks easily.

To me the wheels look like they could have been a high end option from Jag in a later year. Great choice. Pls do not paint them.

Phil are they your calipers or do you have an aftermarket cover on them?

After market MGP caliper covers. Easy to clean and I never liked the factory calipers painted since they're not finished nicely.

After the wheels are off, it tales 3 minutes to install. Two clips each. They will custom color too.

Wow! If I may ask what kind of base is your painter using at that price?
I'm guessing he's getting a gallon at a 1:1 mix?

It's going to look like a whole new car when that new paint is on, I hope you put up some photos.

4 Pcs Red 3D Brembo Style Disc Brake Caliper Covers Front and Rear New Universal | eBay

Stumbled on to these gems and thought you might think of converting.
Mighty car mods put these on a golf and once installed they actually do look great.

I originally bought a set of those but they were just too rigged to install. They barely have anything holding them on. And you have to re glue them everything you have to change pads. They do look real though.

These are what I have on. They do look great but you're right, they are held on with sikaflex and i'm not really looking forward to peeling them off when the pads need replacing.

Default Forgiato wheels

While you are on the subject. Anyone familiar with these? I was looking through a book while waiting at a tire shop and kept thinking. Wow! There are some gorgeous wheels in here! I've always appreciated my stock wheels, low keyed look. But -- maybe?

The Ford/Lincoln Tuxedo Black is a great color. It really pops in the sun.
