New to the XK8 world
I just bought a 97 XK8 with 70,000 miles on the clock and I am the 3rd owner. It has a new canvas top, Mina exhaust and 20" wheels. It was originally white(MDY) but was repainted Silver metallic by the original owner. I have yet to take delivery of the car but that happens this weekend, probably tomorrow. It also came with the original 16" chromed wheels and extra tires but I do like the 20's better so I'll probably be selling the originals. I will be reading all the threads on this model with great interest. The top hydraulics will need inspection and I think maybe the tensioners as well. As of right now the top works fine and no sign of hydraulic fluid leakage. Fingers crossed.

I used to live in Webster and Rochester. Concentrate on the tensioners. When I bought my car that was the first thing I did, and I found a large piece of one of the shoes on the camshaft cap right behind the sprocket. If it had been caught between the chain and sprocket, that would probably have written off the engine.
