Default Newby from Canada

Hello All,
I would like to introduce myself
I am Skooba Kowboy from Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
This is my first post anywhere in the world.

I joined the forum because I wanted to share my recent experience of taking on an LS1 conversion in a 1998 XK8

I want to make it clear that I am not affiliated with any business in any way
I'm just a guy with a great Jag that decided to take on the conversion

As this is my first post, I will be brief
I will post the details in future if anyone is interested

I will offer this short synopsis:
I bought an XK8 for my wife three years ago and the tranny blew in June 2012 (high miler)
Not having oodles of cash I investigated several options and decided on the conversion. I worked with Jaguar Specialties and the experience was challenging and very rewarding.
Momma has her Kitty back and life is good.

Being from Canada this was quite the ordeal but I was surrounded by great and talented friends without whom this would not have been possible

Thank you to all who have posted a variety of messages that were instrumental in assisting me as well

All the best
SK aka Mark J

Welcome. There are quite a few high milers here. Also, many who'd like a stick in theirs, even with the same engine. Look forward to hearing the story on the conversion.

Default Thanks for the warm welcome

Thank you all for the warm welcome
In the interest of not boring everyone with a very long story I will post the conversion in segments in the near future
I will work on a format that hopefully will be informative and fun (with pictures of course)
Trust me, there will be a laugh or two in here

Cheers,
SK
