Default Nitto tire deal...

The Nitto tire promotion sound interesting, and I do need new tires...but what's up with all these companies requiring the use of a Facebook account??? I don't have one, don't want one, and surely don't want all the crap that comes with one. So, why not just a straight up deal without the PITA "social network" crap?

My pet peeve is the "Don't screw me hard card" that so many retailers want you to tote around on your keychain.

I ain't playing the Facebook game, either....

Besides, Nitto doesn't build the tire in the rear tire size our XK8 will soon need (255/40/19)....

I'm running 275 35 18's on the rear without any issues, and that's with +1'' spacers too. You can feel the better grip (look forward to seeing what my 60' times at the track are) and I love the wide rear tire look IMO

Looks good, pomosv.

I assume you're running 9" wheels in the rear, yes? Do the 275 sidewalls have to "pinch in" to get into the rims?

Well, just found that the Nitto tire deal don't include Puerto Rico, which being part of the United States, seems to me is discriminatory. In the majority of the cases, for not saying all, US companies includes Puerto Rico in their sweepstakes and promotions. May be ignorance on their part as what the relationship US/PR is but I'm sure they loved the busine$$ they made out of PR.

Yes, stock 9'' rears. 275's are right at home with no bulging out or pinching. I think Norman D even runs 285's on his heavily modded XKR (he's got the same 18'' double-fives in black), and he's even lowered.

Here's a side profile shot:

What camber have you got set up the front? Looks very straight up and down. How did you do that?

That's a great look..........but you'll need mudflaps to keep all the flying rubber and grime from sticking all over your fenders

The rear end of our XK8 gets filthy enough with the normal 255/40/19 tires on the rear axle. I can imagine how much filthier the wider tires will make the rear end, particularly in nasty weather. Is there a small, discreet set of splash guards out there that won't make the car look like a 4X4 mudder?

My ZR-1 came with 275/40/17's on the front on 9.5" rims. I can't remember the offset but they very "comfortable" on there. I'd think a 9" rim would be good, too.

OTH: the rears were those 315/35/17's that looked almost square because they were about 12"+ wide at the sidewall.

Here's the biggest rear end shot I could find (not my ZR-1...and I said "biggest", not "best"). :P

The fronts are stock, I believe 245 45 18.

Also a correction, I think the rears are 275 40 18's (I mentioned 35's above). I'm out of the country right now so can't double check unfortunately.

I actually don't get any splashes on the rear. If you saw the car in person you'd see the wheels are still a bit tucked in even with the 1'' spacers on the stock 9'' wide rims. I could probably go another 1/4 or 1/2 inch. FYI you can get Jag "mud flaps" like covers that came stock on the big 20'' wheels.
