I have spent many hours trying to find an answer to the question On a 1997 XK8, can I replace the air conditioner pressure switch without losing my freon charge?". Does anyone have the definitive answer?
Thanks in advance for any help! I think this is the most useful forum I have ever found!!!

97-xk8: Have replaced compressor, receiver/dryer and now pressure switch; still no A/C. After replacing pressure switch, the engine will stall after being at idle a short time when A/C is turned on. Jag Dealer Tech ran diagnostics and thinks it is the Climate Control Module? - $1200. new. They want $400 to run Pinout test to prove if it is Air CCM or not. I am thinking about finding a used/reman. CCM or at least a better price for new and putting it on myself (might have Jag put it on if reasonable price to install?). Any advice as to whether this is a good idea? Thanks in advance for any help you may give me; my better half's temper is rising with the rising temperatures here. It is beginning to get hot here - Mississipi, near Memphis, TN.

Just a little concerned....
Got home tonight and noticed a drip, drip, drip from under the car. Not good, as like humans, I prefer all the fluids on my car on the inside.
Got a tray under there pronto and took a test of the fluid dripping out of a tube half-way down the underside of my Jag. Clear and odourless. Ok. Had the A/C topped up yesterday, so hoping this is just an enthusiastic mechanic with a heavy hand. However, still dripping an hour later.
I'm new in here guys, so go easy on me, ok? Driving my dream and don't want it to turn into a nightmare.....
Cheers

Perfectly normal - it's the condensate drain - shows the system is working. Be more of a worry if no dripping water

Intermittant a/c
1. When the A/C is not working how can I bypass the pressure switch to verify that is actually the fault?
2. If it is, do I have to vacuum the system to replace the switch or is there a Schrader valve below it?
